How to setup Media Player Classics for 3Dfier

After Media Player Classics installed(most likely come with K-lite codec pack or Real Alternative), launch Media Player Classics and go to Options.

Select "Output" and find the DirectShow Video where the available renderers are listed. Select "System Default" or VRM9 for 3Dfier to work with Media Player Classics. Select "System Default" only for Windows 7.

If you want to use Media Player Classics to play DVD with 3Dfier, uncheck the "MPEG-2 Video" Transformer Filters from "Internal Filters" Option.

If 3Dfier is configured and running correctly, you will see 3Dfier icon shown in system tray and also the Player->Filters menu item will show 3Dfier 2D to 3D transform filter in the list.


3Dfier icon will be shown on system tray only when you open or play a file with Media Player Classics or other players that is compatible with DirectShow. You might need to try to find it by yourself under Windows 7 where not all icons are shown by default.

Right-Click on the icon, you will have access to the control of 3Dfier including enable/disable, Input Type selection (Normal, Above-Below or Side-by-Side) and Swap Left/Right. Remember to stop Media Player Classics playback before make any change.

Optimized anaglyph playback with 3Dfier!

You can now get great anaglyph viewing experience with 3Dfier by using the Optimized Anaglyph rendering option with iZ3D Media Player Classics:

Install both iZ3D Media Player Classics and 3Dfier Side-By-Side filter. Go to iZ3D Media Player Classics Options and set the Stereo Rendering as "Optimized Anaglyph".


Remember to set the Stereo format as "Side By Side" when playback video files. Try it. The anaglyph result is really better with the combination of 3Dfier and iZ3D Media Player Classics!

Watch your favorite TV program in 3D with 3Dfier for TV Tuner demo !

Guys, we are happy to release this new demo that will support TV Tuner applications that utilize Directshow. You will be able to watch your favorite TV programs in 3D in realtime with this release of 3Dfier Directshow filter! Try it today. Although 3Dfier does not have best results with Anaglyph, this release is for Red-Cyan Anaglyph only as we did not see a TV tuner application that supports side-by-side format like iZ3D media player did for video playback. If you have a TV tuner app that supports side-by-side format, please let us know and we will work on the side-by-side release.

This release has been verified on AMCAP and Virtualdub. Not all TV Tuner app support Directshow but it is possible to use Virtualdub to connect to your TV card to watch TV in 3D.

Apart from the the support for TV Tuner card, this release added depth to the Anaglyph output. You should be able to see deeper scenes than previous release. Please move on to the download section to download this latest release.

3Dfier works best with high quality video

There are reports of no good result of 3Difer on some low bit rate videos. This is expected behavior. 3Dfier works best with high quality video with sharp image. The algorithm does not work well with low quality video that comes with significant noise. On the other hand, we do not want low quality 3D anyway, right? Try to see the jungle scenes of Australia the movie in high quality, you will be impressed by the 3D effects with 3Dfier.

3Dfier directdhow filter evaluation demo for download

We are happy to announce that v0.2 of 3Dfier 2D-3D transform DirectShow filter is ready for download for evaluation purpose. There are two versions, one for Anaglyph and the other for Side-By-Side. You need to agree with the following before downloading the demos:

-This demo version of 3Dfier is for evaluation purposes only. Do not use the filter itself and the derived works for any commercial purpose.

-This demo version of 3Dfier is targeting for 3D video viewing purpose only. Do not use it to convert video contents for any purpose. Sharing still captures is an exception if you share it to 3Dfier blog with no commercial purpose.

-You agree not to perform any reverse engineering or hacking of the filter. Nor should you modify the filter binary. Any information you obtained by using the 3Dfier filter is considered our intellectual property. Do not use the information without our agreement.

-Always refer to www.3Dfier.com if you are showing the demo or derived works. If you wish to use 3Dfier for any commercial demo, please contact us to get a license agreement.

-Do not distribute the files you have downloaded. Please point to this site for any further downloads.

-The demo version works only for roughly 10 mins. It will affect all video playback that utilizes directdraw even you choose to disable the filter effect from tray menu . These two version cannot be installed together.
